11.   Thank you!  We’ve had a great run!

1.        This is going to be a terrific party!  The December 9th All About Art Holiday party promises wonderful food, music with the very popular DJ we had last year, door prizes, and lots of guaranteed fun!  The deadline is extended until this coming Monday morning, December 4.   Please act now, and sign up in the Art Room.  There is still space.  The cost is $35/person.  The buffet dinner, catered by Southern Spice, consists of Chicken Marsala, Eggplant Parmesan, Brown Rice with Mushrooms, Sauteed Vegetables with Broccoli,Salad, and Lemon Cake with Strawberries.  Wine, water, and coffee will be provided.  You may also BYOB.  Please bring your check---made out to All About Art---to the Art Room to sign up.   We look forward to seeing you there!

2.       It’s time to renew your membership.  The best way to do it is to go to our website at www.scartclub.com.  If you renew online, it  ensures accuracy, and makes it much easier for our membership chair.  Thank you!

3.       Your new Executive Board will vote on the 2024 Budget and Calendar on January 10, and then will make them available to the membership.

4.       First Saturday is tomorrow, December 2, starting at 10 AM.

5.       The Hospitality/Social/Happy Hour will be Thursday, December 14 from 5 – 6 PM in the Art Room.  There is no agenda.  It’s a great time to hang-out with artists.  Bring your own beverage and a snack to share if you like.  We hope to see you there.

6.       No Art Party this month.  It will return on Thursday, January 18 at 6:30.  Watch for sign up information in the Art Room.

7.       Come into the Art Room to see the new ANYTHING GOES Display Wall.  It’s massive.  Fifty-nine pieces of art were submitted by 41 artists using traditional and non-traditional art forms, prints, giclees, fabric art---really just about anything goes!

Be sure to get ready for the January wall.  Most of the wall will be back to normal, within our usual guidelines…however, the end panel on the right is  entirely for NOVICES.   If you are a member- artist who has not displayed at All About Art before, here’s your chance.  Please note:  no art made in a class will be eligible.  Only original paintings.  Up to two pieces per artist.

Now to the change!  It does not make sense to change the art in the middle of the holidays.  So.....we are going to ask that you leave the art that is currently on the display wall through the holiday season.  That means that you will pick it up sometime on Wednesday January 3, and drop off your art to be hung on Thursday, January 4 before 2 PM.

8.       Educational Classes for December:

·        Paint What you Love, Mary Treadwell 1:30 – 4 PM, December 2, 9, 23, 30.  $25/class

9.       User Groups, an explanation.  A User Group is a group of artists who want to gather to make art using a similar technique or style.  It is casual and there is no teacher.  Currently, we have an Abstract, and a Digital Art User Group, however, none will meet this month.  Watch the newsletter for dates of upcoming User Group gatherings.

10.    The new mirror that we bought using the proceeds from the summer tag sale is installed!  It looks great, and enhances our learning experiences.

11.   This is our last newsletter of the year……and the end of our term as presidents of your club.  It has been a wonderful experience!  The club is full of amazing people who make incredible art.  Thank you for this opportunity, and for your support!  Welcome to the new president, Patti Rozonkiewiecz, AKA Patti Roz, and the rest of the board.  We look forward to seeing you all at the holiday party, and around the studio in 2024.
