For all levels.

to become comfortable using oils.

to learn how to mix complex colors.

to understand the importance of light versus dark, bright versus dull.

to complete a medium size painting.

to fall in love with oils.

Please bring the following:

A photo of what you would like to paint. Or your IPad with the photo uploaded.

Paint: burnt umber, ultramarine blue, titanium white, cadmium yellow pale, cadmium red, sap green(or Sennelier’s chrome oxide green light), cobalt blue, yellow ochre pale, and raw sienna.

Brushes: flats #00, 0, 2, 4. Just bring a variety of small to medium sizes. I use long flat brushes by Isabey, called Isacryl. They are available from Blick’s, but you need not go to the same expense. Flat and round are the best for this painting.

Canvas, not larger than 16 x 20.

Pastel pencil, terra cotta color.

Kneaded eraser

Sansador, odorless mineral spirits

Linseed oil

Two palette knives, #2.

Palette – whatever surface you are comfortable with. I use an opaque glass palette. It is slick and non-absorbent.

Blue painters cloths or paper towels.

Each of the 4 sessions (February 22, 23, 24 & 25) is different from the others.
