Important Information and Upcoming Classes

Class Guidelines for

Students and Teachers

                                                 

1.  Members are encouraged NOT to come to the studio if they are feeling unwell.
                                                                    

2.  Members are welcome to bring their own cleaning supplies and hand sanitizer. Some supplies will also be provided. Studio users are encouraged to clean the space they will use when they arrive at the studio, ​and​ before they leave.
                                                                    

3.  When in the studio, one person may sit at each table, positioned in the center. Doing this will maintain the recommended 6 feet social distancing. The teacher will remain in the front at the teacher’s station.
                                                                    

4.  Studio users are requested to wear masks while in the studio. Please remember, according to the CDC, masks are intended to keep people safe from the person who is wearing it, and a mask is not a substitute for social distancing. Any visitor coming into the studio is requested to wear a mask. Masks will not be provided.

ACRYLIC PAINTING with LYNNE DRAKE

IMPRESSIONISM SERIES: MONET’S HAY STACKS

 

DESCRIPTION: 

Students will complete an acrylic painting inspired by the work of master

painter Claude Monet 

 

DATE: Thursday, September 16th
 

TIME: 10 am – 2:30 pm (includes ½ hour lunch break) 

 

COST: $20 (2 for $20 class special)

OBJECTIVE:

 

Students will have an intro to painting with acrylics

Learn about the properties of acrylic paint

Understand composition, color & principles of art

Learn various techniques such as layering, glazing & blending 

 

SPECIAL INSTRUCTONS:
 

Bring your own canvas

Basic paints & supplies are provided, but you may also want to bring some of your own paints & supplies.
 

I will provide a few photos of different “Water Lillies” for reference or you can download a photo of one that you prefer (there are many versions of Monet’s “Haystacks”

Water color paints

2 for $20 - Begin Your Journey in Watercolors

Date: Thursday, July 22, 2021 or September 9th 2021

Time: 10:00 am-12:00 pm: 12:30 pm-2:30 pm

 

Cost: $20.00 - Go to members-only page and pay by Cam Card. (Click below to sign up)

In these two classes, you will learn the various techniques of watercolor painting: flat washes, graded washes, wet into wet painting, dry brush painting, texture techniques, lifting paint and how to use the perfect combination of water and pigment.  You will leave with a completed painting.

All supplies will be provided except for watercolor paper which will be available for purchase at the All About Art gallery.  Bring from home: paper towels, a stiff board to tape your paper onto, painter’s tape, any watercolors supplies you may have and your enthusiasm!

Student level: Beginner

Class size: 4-12

Cost: $25.00/class.  You initially need to sign up for 3 classes which does not need to be consecutive.  Going forward, signup for one or more classes at a time.

Mary believes that one should paint what inspires the artist.  The student is to bring items or photos to work from.  Student will receive individual attention and guidance on their painting.  The lessons will include various watercolor techniques, assistance with drawing, composition and the role of color and values.  Mary will teach via discussions, demonstration, personal attention, and examples.

All levels welcome from beginners to advanced.
